Smith Wigglesworth (June 8, 1859 – March 12, 1947) was a British healing evangelist who raised 23 people from the dead. He prayed for many people in many countries and people received healing, which was clearly visible and recorded.
Smith was born on June 8 in England, in the town of Menston, Yorkshire in a poor family. As a small child, he worked in the fields picking turnips side by side with his mother; also worked in factories. As a child, he was illiterate. As a visitor to the Methodist Church, he was born again at the age of 8.
Smith was baptized through full immersion in the Baptist Church and received basic Bible teaching from the Plymouth Brethren while studying plumbing as an apprentice.
