Harriet Gabourel

Harriet Gabourel was a minor Victorian author with 2 works to her name. She originally published True to Her Faith under the title Suzanne de L'Orme, the name of the story's heroine, in 1871. Following Harriet's death in 1899, London publisher, Gall & Inglis reprinted the book under the title True to Her Faith. The novel weaves together several stories of Harriet's grandmother, Elizabeth Guillet-Gabourel, recounting the days of Huguenot persecution in France.

Harriet's other novel, The Knight and the Dragon, is based on the legend of Hougue Bie de Hambie of the Island of Jersey.
