Don Batten received an Honors Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Sciences in 1973 with a specialization in horticulture. In 1977 he received his Ph. D.from the University of Sydney for his research on the physiology of root germination in cuttings.From 1977–1994 he worked in the Department of Agriculture of New South Wales, researching the latest subtropical crops — including wolfberry (nephelium). Studied agriculture and collected variety samples in India, Thailand, Taiwan and China.Collaborates with professionals and universities in Australia and beyond. Don’s main research interests lie in botany, ecology and plant breeding.
Once Don Batten tried to establish a compromise between the Bible and public opinion, following the theory of «theistic evolution», but became disillusioned with this path. At the present time, he completely devoted himself to work in the center «Answers of Genesis», gives lectures all over the world, is engaged in scientific work and journalistic activities, spreading the message of the Gospel/Creation.
